The day after the Idridgehay opening extravaganza, where trains were running on all three lines out of Wirksworth station.
A fantastic little railway operated by a really friendly bunch of people (which is quite rare these days). The line should be fully open to Duffield by 2010.

An early morning start in Derby allowed me to get 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" on the steam leg of the Yorkshire Coronation (Leicester - Scarborough and return) charter. There was also a spin and win railtour (The Grid Arising) running from Crewe - Doncaster and return. I saw this at Leicester, Nottingham and Toton allowing me to photograph every loco that was used on it.

This weekend, engineering work was taking place at Duffield, two miles down the line from me. I saw an engineers train going very slowly on the line from my house, and it eventually stopped.
